April 2009 E-Alert
New I-9 Form Reminder
In February 2009, the Lowenbaum
Partnership advised that the U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Services
(USCIS) had delayed the
implementation of new Form I-9 for
60 days or until April 3, 2009. Last
week, USCIS provided a statement
approving use of the revised
Form I-9 previously published in
the federal register on December 17,
2008. In addition, USCIS has issued
an updated
Handbook for Employers with
instructions regarding the new Form
I-9. Companies must immediately
implement the use of the new Form
I-9.
If you have questions, do not
hesitate to contact one of the
attorneys at the Lowenbaum
Partnership.
