St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson’s Office announced yesterday that St. Louis City’s new minimum wage of $10 per hour will take effect today, Friday, May 5, 2017.  Beginning Jan. 1, 2018, the minimum wage will rise to $11.

As discussed in our legal alert last week, the ordinance for the new wage underwent several court proceedings, and the only remaining obstacle to the increased minimum wage was the Circuit Court’s 2015 injunction. After a hearing on a Motion to Vacate, the Circuit Court announced this morning that it would lift the injunction today.
